Visual Effects Supervisor
Robin Hollander brings pragmatism and innovation to visual effects supervision. With nearly 16 years of compositing experience at Wētā FX, he leverages a deep understanding of pipeline workflows to design efficient, artist-focused solutions.
Most recently, Robin was VFX Supervisor on Disney’s Goosebumps: Season 2 and before that on Netflix’s Rebel Moon Parts 1 and 2. He led the team on Cocaine Bear, Elizabeth Banks’s comedy-horror film, creating “Cokey,” the fully CG rampaging bear. The film earned nominations from the Annies, MTV Movie, and People’s Choice awards.
Robin was also VFX Supervisor on Marvel’s Eternals and Additional VFX Supervisor on Christmas Chronicles 2, overseeing Wētā’s delivery of all visual effects for the Netflix feature. He supervised The Wilds for Amazon Prime, using a comp-centric workflow to deliver water and matte painting extensions efficiently within the show’s budget and schedule.
As Compositing Supervisor on Oscar-nominated Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Robin played a major role in the Titan battle sequences. Wētā’s use of the Eddy volumetric and simulation tool enabled his team to generate flexible, high-detail effects rapidly and adapt as shots evolved.
He brought that experience to Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), where early composites of the third-act mandrill chase helped streamline direction and enhance final detail. Robin’s work on War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) earned him a VES Award for Outstanding Compositing.
Earlier credits include Compositing Supervisor on The Hobbit trilogy and Lead Compositor on Avatar, where his contributions to stereo innovations were recognized with an HPA Award.
