Libby Hazell

VFX Producer on Wētā’s work for Netflix’s Umbrella Academy, Libby was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Season 1 (2019) and an HPA Award for Season 2 (2020). She also produced Wētā’s contribution to the Netflix comedy series Space Force (2020).

Libby worked client-side on The Lord of the Rings trilogy as a Visual Effects Production Manager spanning pre-production, shoot and post-production. She was VFX Onset Co-Producer on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) and VFX Producer for The Water Horse (2007), before crossing over to Wētā FX as Associate VFX Producer on The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008). As Bidding Producer, Libby worked for several years with Wētā’s Executive VFX Producer on attracting new projects to the facility.

Libby brings a pragmatic and balanced approach to producing. Informed by the needs of both client and vendor, she steers production so that the VFX team can create their best work.

A University of Oxford graduate in Human Sciences, Libby began her career in visual effects at Framestore in 1996.
