When family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt) was drafted to join a future war against a ruthless and unstoppable race of savage aliens, we were given the task of animating what can only be described as CG nightmares.
Our work in The Tomorrow War focused heavily on creating the white spike aliens, a key focus being the formidable female leading her army of male CG killing machines. The animators creating the white spikes were inspired by all kinds of different animals, with the female particularly influenced by bears for her gait and weight, and rhinos for her torso.
Our artists also created a number of large-scale CG environments, including the militarised oil rig known as Deepswell. The last base for the remaining human race, Deepswell is a massive CG environment and acts as the staging ground for an epic white spike invasion in the second act of the film. We were also responsible for the final stand-off between our hero and the female white spike.
