Weta Digital exclusively handled the creation and destruction of Krypton for the first act of the film. Krypton City covered 230 square kilometres with thousands of building structures, populated with spaceships, creatures and a huge variety of effects work. A key element of the work was to create the alien display technology on Krypton dubbed 'liquid geo', which is most dramatically portrayed in a visually compelling animation of the history of Krypton.
