Applying for a job at Weta Digital

Follow these guidelines to apply for a job at Weta Digital.

Recruitment form

Our recruitment form is the only way to officially register your interest in a position at Weta Digital. Be sure to include your contact details, including a current email address. If you don’t fill out the recruitment form, your application will not be considered.

Non-New Zealand applicants

Due to New Zealand immigration laws, we can only take non-New Zealand recruits with a minimum of three years’ experience in feature film digital effects. An exception can be made if you possess unique skills or experience that compensate for your lack of production experience.

Please note that Australia Permanent Residents/Citizens do not require a work visa.

Showreels

If we request your showreel, please submit it on DVD in either PAL or NTSC format. Do not send your original reel as it will not be returned to you. Your showreel should display your most recent work and should be no longer than three minutes.

Please attach a credit list detailing your involvement in the contents of the showreel and what software was used.

Portfolios

If we request your portfolio, please send copies of original works, colour if possible. Do not send your original portfolio as it will not be returned to you.

How we manage job applications

We will email you to let you know we have received your completed questionnaire. We receive a lot of applications, so it may take some weeks before yours is reviewed.

Please be assured that every application is read, and any updates made to online questionnaires are tracked and noted.  If we like the look of your application, we’ll let you know in due course.
